Fermanagh, Northern Ireland
This project is due to be built next year, in a place called Boa Island in County Fermanagh. The clients have built a beautiful house on-top of a hill overlooking the bays. The purpose of the garden is to really focus on having that view to water at every moment.
It’s a very large site and the garden can have many sections as you travel through it, due to the amount of rainfall and working together with the clients, we wanted to design a garden that was harvest and use that rainfall and distribute across the garden evenly.
We would install large native trees such as Betula pendula (silver birch) and Taxodium distichum (Swamp Cypress) to anchor this new property in the land alongside feature rocks that would really give the space a maturity whilst the planting knits together over time.
